Foodies, stop what you’re doing.
Any true foodies in the city won’t want to miss the BBC Good Food Show returning to the NEC this weekend. The Summer show runs from the 13 – 16 June and will play host to celebrity chefs and food experts from across the country.
As always, The Good Food Show will include talks and demonstrations with some of the nation’s best-loved chefs and bakers, including Mary Berry, Tom Kerridge and Glyn Purnell, who has announced he is opening a restaurant right here in Coventry in the historic Charterhouse.
The highlight of the show is always the Big Kitchen, where you’ll experience the very best celebrity chefs cooking delicious dishes live on stage. This year, stop by for talks by Prue Leith, a Michelin star challenge with Glyn Purnell, and a demo from Mary Berry and Alan Titchmarsh. Over on the Good Food Stage, watch interviews with your favourite stars, including Bake Off winner Nadiya Hussain, and get your own culinary queries answered.
Throughout the weekend, you can also enjoy the WHSmiths pop-up book shop, where you can buy the latest books from chefs and experts appearing at the Show and get them signed. Not to mention, there’s a pop-up restaurant, a skills school and much more.
If you’re feeling a little inspired by all the demos, the show is a foodie’s shopping dream. You’ll find a huge selection of artisan producers to tempt your tastebuds. Everything from bread and cheese to luxury confectionary. Over in the Craft Alcohol area, you’ll find top producers of wines, spirits and beers.
When you’re full of samples and the shopping bags are piled with treats, your ticket also gets you free access to BBC Gardener’s World Live. Stroll among the plants, and enjoy a picnic of your purchases in the beautiful display gardens.
With all the inspiration you could ever need, get advice from the best garden experts in the business and shop all the best plants and garden essentials from over 100 stalls.
