Coventry yoga studio hosts virtual classes during pandemic

The team at The Nook Urban Retreat have created a variety of 20 to 40 minute online classes, including yoga, meditation and art therapy classes.

A yoga and wellness studio in Coventry city centre has launched an online platform to help improve people’s wellbeing during these uncertain times.

The Nook Urban Retreat, which opened its doors in November as Coventry’s first yoga studio, has launched their ‘virtual studio’ known as The Nook At Home offering on-demand yoga and wellbeing classes free-of-charge.

The team at The Nook have created a variety of 20 to 40 minute online classes, including yoga, mindfulness meditation, Barre and art therapy classes; all of which are aimed at helping calm the mind and reduce stress, keeping you grounded and more balanced during this difficult time.

Their yoga and Barre classes are designed to help you get moving and improve fitness whilst staying at home.

Some example classes are Sleep Yoga for Less Stress, Calm Breathing & Mindfulness Meditation, Relaxing Yin Yoga and many more.

Whilst the on-demand virtual classes are free-of-charge and can be accessed anytime, The Nook have asked for participants to make any donations they can, with proceeds going to NHS Charities Together.

The Nook At Home can easily be accessed via a computer, tablet or smartphone, with classes being designed for all levels of experience – there’s even an introduction to yoga for those who are new to the practice.

The Nook have said they have further plans for live online yoga classes in the next couple of weeks, with classes being taught using Zoom and Instagram Live.

“The Nook hopes to encourage more people to make time for themselves and to prioritise self-care especially during this time”, said a spokesperson for the studio.
