A weekend of Easter activities and entertainment is coming to Coventry city centre next month.
Next month will see a weekend filled with free family-friendly activities from an egg hunt and creative workshops, to entertainers and Instagrammable moments as part of Coventry Business Improvement District’s (BID) Easter events.
Kicking off at 11:00 am on both 10 and 11 April, the Easter Fun Weekend will invite families to join in on an Easter Egg Hunt throughout the city centre.
There will be six letters to find, which when spelt out will form a particular word that needs to be added to the special entry form. Participants can then need to hand this in at Broadgate to receive a chocolate egg prize and be in with the chance of winning an Easter hamper, the contents of which were kindly donated by various BID businesses.
Actors from The Fabularium, a Coventry-based theatre company made up of musicians, acrobats and storytellers, will be dressed as bunnies to host the weekend’s events and hand out free chocolate eggs.
Additional entertainment across the two days will be provided by Hoop Guy, previously seen on Britain’s Got Talent, who is set to perform some hula hoop demos, balloon modelling, unicycle demos and juggling, with opportunities for you to get involved.
There will also be a giant bubble entertainer performing on both days.
Families that want to embrace their creative side will have plenty of opportunities to do so, with the Creation Station offering free workshops for children to paint wooden eggs which they can then take home.
The team from Wagamama will also be out creating a cherry blossom tree collage involving painting lots of pink fingerprints on to a large piece of paper before it’s added to a big brown trunk and eventually displayed as an art installation inside Wagamama’s restaurant at Cathedral Lanes.
Anyone coming through the city over the two days will also have the opportunity to capture that perfect shot to share with family and friends on social media, alongside a special Easter-themed installation.
Commenting ahead of the Easter Fun Weekend, Trish Willetts, Coventry Business Improvement District director, said: “We are incredibly egg-cited to showcase all the amazing activities and entertainment within the city across the Easter weekend!
“With something for all the family, it’s a great way to make the most of the long weekend and spend some quality time together.”
