Free Wi-Fi at Godiva Festival

This alone makes the £2 entry fee worth it.

For the second year running, visitors to Godiva Festival will be able to access free Wi-Fi.

As part of their national Fibre-to-the-Premises project, Wi-Fi company CityFibre has been working towards transforming Coventry into one of the world’s most digitally connected cities.

To mark the progress that’s been made with the project, they will be sponsoring the Wi-Fi at this year’s Godiva Festival.

Connecting to the Wi-Fi network is easy. Users just search for Godiva Free Wi-fi on their phone and connect using an e-mail address or their Facebook account.

Users will only need to register once and can re-connect to the service as many times as they like during the festival, meaning visitors will be able to share videos and photos without away at their data.

Councillor Richard Brown, Coventry City Council’s Digital Champion, said: “It’s great to have CityFibre on board as part of the festival family through their sponsorship of the public Wi-Fi at the event. We know thousands of people will be hooking into the free site Wi-Fi to share pictures and access information about the festival, so I’m sure the service will prove very popular over the duration of the festival.”

Leigh Hunt, CityFibre’s City Manager for Coventry, said: “The Godiva Festival is a key cultural highlight of Coventry’s annual events calendar and is widely regarded as one of the biggest and best family festivals in the UK. CityFibre is proud to play our part in this year’s event as an official Wi-Fi sponsor: there really is no better way to celebrate the progress we’ve made over the last six months on bringing reliable, high capacity, gigabit-capable broadband within reach of nearly every home and business in Coventry by 2022.”

Godiva Festival 2019 takes place this weekend, from 5 to 7 July in the City’s War Memorial Park. For more, take a read of our Godiva Festival 2019 Guide.
