In celebration of St Patrick’s Day, the team at the Coventry-based production company, Imagineer, have announced the line-up for a fun-filled family day of art, music, performance and dance in Coventry city centre.

Taking place in the Skydome’s Events Space and JJ’s Coventry nightclub on Saturday 14 March, the day will feature music and song, aerial performances, dance performances, an art installation, an exhibition and more.

The celebrations begin at 12 noon – 4:00 pm with free entry; the event is suitable for all ages.

The project is part of Culture on the Move, which aims to explore the cultural influence of migration on our city, connecting generations and celebrating diversity and creativity that continues to evolve.

The day of events has been produced by Imagineer Productions in partnership with Coventry Irish Society and Media Mania working with local schools, artists, organisations and the wider Coventry community to celebrate St Patrick’s Day and explore the wider city’s cultural heritage.

In preparation for this project, Imagineer has been working closely with schools and community groups exploring migration both Then (the 1940s – 60s) and Now, through various art forms with professional artists and organisations in the city. This education programme has been supported by The Great Place Scheme – Coventry City of Culture 2021.

This project has also trained and supported 10 young people who are not in employment, education or training – developing their skills in event management and technical support through Imagineer’s ‘Transformations Programme’.

Some of the groups and individuals involved include: Rebel Manifesto, Grapevine and students from Hereward College to show aerial performances; an art installation from Imagineer’s Monday Night Makers Group; ‘Drumestra’ from Foxford School & Neol Davies (Selecter); a photography exhibition from students at Cardinal Wiseman school; and more.
