Talking Birds bring immersive theatre experience Capsule to Fargo Village this January

An unassuming wooden pod takes up residence in Fargo Village, but venturing inside the capsule, nothing is as it seems.

Coventry-based theatre company Talking Birds are set to bring their immersive experience Capsule to Fargo Village from Saturday 25 to Tuesday 28 January.

An unassuming wooden pod takes up residence in Fargo Village, but venturing inside the capsule, nothing is as it seems.

The audience goes on a thrilling journey over and under water, meeting fishing families, cargo workers and travellers – whose stories are as bound up with ours as raindrops are with the ocean.

From rivers that lead to freedom, and canals with narrow options for manoeuvre, to seas filled with intrigue, memories and cries for change, the capsule navigates across the world.

Through the portals of the pod, glimpses of the changing landscape are seen until, at the end of the performance, the audience are lead ashore for the final thrilling stage of their journey.

Stephanie Ridings, from Talking Birds, said, “Capsule is a simple yet inventive show which brings its audience on a gentle and memorable journey. It makes a perfect escape for a dreary January day, and with tickets from just £3 we hope it is something that the family can come together to enjoy.”

Performances last for thirty minutes. The Capsule is accessible for wheelchair users and captions are available through Talking Birds’ innovative app The Difference Engine, plus there will be BSL-signed performances on Tuesday 28 January.

Capsule is supported by Arts Council England, Coventry City Council and the Esmee Fairburn Foundation.
