It’s not too late to get tickets to see Christmas theatre in Coventry over the festive season.
It’s not too late to get your hands on last-minute tickets to Christmas shows in the city this Christmas.
Coventry has more than a few Christmas shows to enjoy over the holiday season. From Christmas modern pantomimes to spectacular Christmas theatre productions.
We’ve summed up a few of our favourites:
Raymond Briggs’ Father Christmas – Warwick Arts Centre
There are few stage shows more festive than this take on the popular work by British children’s writer Raymond Briggs, which will have the little ones enthralled at the Warwick Arts Centre.
Join Santa as he awakes from a dream of sun, sea and sand only to find it is the busiest day of the year: Christmas Eve.
Watch as he prepares his Christmas deliveries, feeds his reindeer and finally takes flight into the snowy night.
This heart-warming adaptation is full of merry touches with plenty of live music, songs and playful puppetry. It’s a perfect introduction to theatre for young children who won’t be able to look away as secret doors and hidden hatches are revealed in this beautifully visual show.
At the time of publishing, some tickets are still available for shows on Christmas Eve and 27, 28 & 29 December, which can be booked via warwickartscentre.co.uk.
Puss in Boots – Belgrade’s Theatre Pantomime
Not performed at the Belgrade for many years, this thrilling adventure tale about a very crafty cat is guaranteed to get you in the festive spirit.
Things are looking pretty bleak in the village of Baggy Bottom on the Bog. An evil Ogre and his horrible henchman Victor Grabitt have control over everyone – even the King – and now they’re trying to kick Simon and his mother Matilda Pudding out of their home!
The poor Puddings could really use some help… Enter Puss in Boots – a clever (and very fashionable) feline who promises to save their home and make them as rich as royalty by embarking on a crafty quest.
But Puss and the Puddings soon find themselves in peril when Victor Grabitt and the Ogre learn of their plans. Will our trusty trio be triumphant? Will Puss keep his promises? And can our hairy hero outsmart the evil Ogre?
Once again written by and starring Iain Lauchlan as the Dame, Puss in Boots features the amazing sets, crazy costumes and seasonal silliness that make a trip to the Belgrade pantomime an unmissable Christmas treat for thousands of families every year.
Limited tickets are still available on Christmas Eve, Boxing Day and through into January, bookable online at belgrade.co.uk.
