Our tastebuds are already tingling.
It’s National Doughnut Week! Our favourite time of the year, truly.
While the celebration may seem wholly pastry inspired, it was in fact originally set up as a unique opportunity for bakers, cafes, companies and community groups to raise money for The Children’s Trust.
The Children’s Trust provides rehabilitation to children and young people with acquired brain injury at their national specialist centre in Surrey, helping them make the best recovery possible after a serious incident or illness.
This year, The Steamhouse cafe is celebrating the week in aid of The Children’s Trust, and offering any 3 doughnuts for £6.
Their doughnut selection won’t disappoint. Made fresh every day, they’ve got filled ones, ring ones, glazed ones and even vegan ones. The Biscoff and Belgian White Chocolate & Blueberry Compote doughnuts caught our eye.
The Steamhouse’s Leamington Spa location can be found right in the centre of the city on Warwick Street, while their new Birmingham location is on the iconic Temple Row.
However, if you’re looking for somewhere a little closer to the city, the new Krispy Kreme in West Orchards just released four new incredible flavours:
Banana Kreme Pie is filled with banana and Lotus Biscoff Kreme, hand dipped in Lotus Biscoff spread and sprinkled with biscuit crumb and chocolate pieces.
Cherry Pie is oozing with a cherry pie filling, hand dipped in icing and topped with crunchy shortcake crumble and cherry sauce.
Maple Pecan Pie is a signature ring doughnut, hand dipped in maple icing, sprinkled with crunchy pecan pieces and finished with white chocolate flavour icing.
Reese’s Peanut Pie is filled with Nutty Reese’s Kreme, hand dipped in chocolate icing and topped with Reese’s peanut butter chips and decoration.
We’ll take one of each.
